A local pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle near Russells Point early Sunday.

Washington Township Police Chief Rick Core reports that Rebecca Magyer, 29, of Indian Lake was hit on State Route 366 west of Township Road 95 around one a.m.

Magyer was struck by an eastbound SUV driven by Lorraine Tucci of Belle Center.

Accident reports indicate that Magyer was walking westbound in the roadway when she was struck.

Police believe that alcohol may have caused her to walk in front of the SUV.

Mrs. Tucci and her occupants were not injured. She was not cited.

Lifeflight transported Magyer from the scene to St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, where she's listed in serious condition.

Huntsville EMS assisted at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.

On June 7th, a Plain City man was struck and killed after walking in front of a car on Route 33 near Lincoln Boulevard.
