After a week of livestock shows and sales, modeling, baking, sewing and other competitions, the Logan County Fair officially closed its gates.

Managing Secretary Jackie Woods was pleased with how smoothly the week ran and with the beautiful weather that accompanied this year's fair week.

(Audio interview and final attendance numbers included).

Woods said there were no major incidents to report and no serious problems throughout the week.

Woods also said she was especially pleased with the weather this year, as attendance was only down severely one day due to rain.

A couple activities were cancelled due to inclement weather, but storms couldn't discourage the motorcycle races that were back in action at the fair this year or the first year for a bull riding competition that took place Friday night.

This year's total paid attendance was down from last year's very strong numbers.

Treasurer Bev Cotterman says the final paid gate total was 25,903 fairgoers.

Last year, 28,388 folks paid to attend the Logan County Fair.
