Against Urbana, Josh Kauffman went the distance to get the win. He scattered 6 hits, struck out 5, and walked 2.

The Powerbuilt offense erupted for 15 hits. Kauffman led the attack by going 3 for 4 with a triple. Zach Mosbarger and Brock Mitchell went 3 for 4. Mark Duffy was 2 for 3 and Jace Mills added a double.

After the game head coach Jeremy Burrey said, "The kids are swinging the bats very well in the tournament. They have done a good job displaying patience and working the count to their favor. The team worked very hard all summer to get to this level. We will need to continue to stay focused on each game as we go through the tournament."

Springfield advanced to the title game by beating Urbana 4-0 in the loser's bracket final Sunday afternoon.

The district champ will play in the State Acme tournament in Coldwater, which opens Saturday.
