Powerbuilt advances to State, Lady Hurricanes shine Print E-mail

baseballs.jpgBellefontaine Powerbuilt is headed to another State Acme tournament.

Powerbuilt defeated Springfield 7-4 in the district title game at Blue Jacket Park last night.

Senior Zach Mosbarger pitched a complete game five-hitter to earn the win. He struck out five.

T.J. Garman went 3-for-3 with a double to lead the offense.

Jace Mills had two hits and three RBIs.

Adam Skelly tripled.

Bellefontaine improves to 29-5.

Coach Burrey's team opens state tournament play Saturday at 2:30 against a team to be determined.

The State Acme tournament is in Coldwater this year.

In travel softball, the Indian Lake Lady Hurricanes placed third in the Jamie Snyder Memorial Tournament in South Vienna this weekend.

The Lady Hurricanes edged the Mt. Vernon Stealth 6-5.

Caitlin Jordan struck out nine in the win.

Kerstin Harmon had an over-the-fence home run and a double.

Jordan tripled.

Krista Young, Chelsey Hoyles, Grace Poeppelman, and India Slayback doubled.

Caroline Lehmon added two hits.

Indian Lake then edged top-seeded Danger-Roberts 2-1 in a pitcher's duel.

Jenna Jordan recorded seven strikeouts in the win.

Chelsey Hoyles delivered the game-winning double in the bottom of the seventh inning.

The Hurricanes blanked the South Charleston Sparks 11-0.

Caitlin Jordan was the winning pitcher with four K's.

Krista Young led the attack with three hits.

Brittany Golliday and Caroline Lehmon had two hits apiece.
