Honda HomeComing, or Logan County Rally at the Peak, will be held July 24th through July 26th. This is the final Honda HomeComing involving Honda, but Logan County will continue to host many activities next July and beyond. Honda HomeComing started in 1989, but Honda is shifting production of its motorcycles from the Marysville Plant to Japan. (Audio interview included.) Candace Watson, who's Director of the Logan County Convention and Tourist Bureau, joins Bill Tipple to preview one of Logan County's biggest events. She and the rally committee have spent months getting ready for many activities here, including the Vendor Expo and the 9th annual "Party at the Peak". The Vendor Expo will again be at the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center Thursday through Saturday. The expo offers numerous motorcycle accessories and entertainment. It runs from 9-5 on Thursday and Friday and from 9-4 on Saturday. The "Party at the Peak" is a block party in downtown Bellefontaine Thursday from 5-11 p.m. There will be food vendors and the Light Parade will make its way into the downtown area around 9:30. Hundreds of motorcycles travel from the Marysville Motorcycle Plant to Bellefontaine every year. Some of the bikes will feature unique decorations and custom paintings. You can see a complete list of activities at http://www.logancountyohio.com/rally/index.html. Watson says there are many reasons that tourists flock to Logan County every year. You can hear more on "In Sync", which airs Sunday mornings at 8:30 on 1390 WBLL and at 8:45 on 98.3 WPKO. |
