bellefontaine_fire_department_squad_on_12-07.jpgA Bellefontaine teenager suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident on Sloan Boulevard Friday afternoon.

The Bellefontaine Police Department reports that Emma Sheldon, 17, was driving a 2000 Honda Accord northbound when she lost control on a curve and went off the left side of the road and hit some small trees and brush.

Officers report that she was going 60 miles per hour.

Sheldon was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by Bellefontaine Fire and EMS.

She was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance.

Her car suffered heavy damage.
