sheriff_sign_10-06.jpgA Columbus man was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Route 33 east of Russells Point Monday afternoon shortly after five o'clock.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office says the driver was westbound when his '94 Toyota went off the right side of the road, came back onto the roadway, and then went off the left side of the road and hit several trees just east of Township Road 94.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 25-years-old.

Authorities are not releasing the driver's name until next of kin has been notified.

He was from Mexico.

Deputies say the man was driving 70 miles per hour and they believe alcohol was a factor.

The man was reportedly driving erratically on Route 33 near Marysville, too.
