The West Liberty Town Hall
"She has stood proud as digntaries and historic figures have passed by."

Built only four years after the end of the Civil War, she has witnessed many great tragedies as well as triumphs.

Now, concerned citizens of West Liberty have gathered to secure the walls of the "Grand Old Lady," and ensure a place where government can meet and community members can once again enjoy the original grandeur of their Town Hall. (Audio interview included.)

The growing Town Hall Restoration Committee met Tuesday evening in a work session to view and discuss an aggressive business plan presented by West Liberty resident Chris Harr.

Mr. Harr displayed the five phases that are planned for the restoration project, which includes:

- The stabilization of the building.

- Remodeling of the first floor.

- Construction of an annex and plaza.

- Renovation of the second floor Opera House.

- Renovation of the Fire Department.

In finality, Mr. Harr along with Grayson Atha and other committee members are hoping to bring in the 200th year annniversary of West Liberty with a celebration of the past, while embracing the future.

Atha has been diligently working on the project which has received attention from places as far away as California.

Listen to Mr. Atha talk about how the original plans were started.

Atha spoke of pledges coming in from past and present residents of West Liberty who are also eager to see life restored back to the Town Hall.
