Lots of vendors, bikes, and family fun will be available the next three days. Here's a rundown of Rally at the Peak events. Enjoy tasty treats from the food vendors and enjoy shows from Jerry "Motorman" Palladino at 6:30 and 7:30. At 8:00 a 20' X 36' garrison flag will be raised with ceremony from ladder trucks, and then lit by spotlights. The motorcycle parade will leave the Honda grounds at 9:00 on their way to The Party at the Peak. Immediately following the parade, there will be a Light Competition in which trophies will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place in the Touring and Open classes. There will also be a trophy awarded for Best in Show, and a People's Choice Award for the leading vote receiver, voted upon by anyone in attendance. Be sure to stay and enjoy the music following the competition! Light Parade Route: Motorcyclists will enter the city on County Road 10, then take a right on Hayes Street, and then take a left on Rush Avenue (Hayes turns into Allison Road near the swimming pool). The bikes will follow Rush to Main Street and then head south on Main to downtown. The Light Parade will arrive in downtown around 9:30. The Top of Ohio Wings is sponsoring several activities throughout the weekend. Anyone, regardless of make or model, is welcome to join them. On Thursday, anyone interested in riding should meet at the Bellefontaine Park and Ride on State Route 540 in front of WPKO and WBLL Radio. Kickstands are up at 6:30 p.m. to head out for the Ice Cream Social at the plant before the Bellefontaine Parade of Lights leaves from the Honda plant around 9:00 p.m. Don't forget to wear your chapter shirts! On Friday, riders will leave the Bellefontaine Park and Ride at 9:00 a.m. to see a hidden beauty of water at Bressler's Dam near Lima. The ride will go past Valley Hi Ski Resort, up Corkscrew Hill and through Pickrelltown. Riders will see some of Ohio's nicest farmland, including a covered bridge in Amish country. Wrapping things up for the weekend on Saturday will be the Ride for Kids. Anyone interested in riding should meet at Tim Horton's from 6:00-6:45 a.m. to eat and then kickstands are up at 7:00 a.m. for departure to the Honda plant. Again, remember to wear your chapter shirt in the Ride for Kids! |
