A 9-year-old girl suffered extensive injuries in a lawn mower accident last night.

The Bellefontaine Police Department and Bellefontaine Fire and EMS were sent to 620 Charles Avenue around 7:30 on reports of a child getting caught under the blades.

The girl was transported to the helipad and then transferred by Lifeflight to Children's Hospital in Columbus.

Her name was not released because of the federal privacy act.

The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
