ohio_state_patrol.gifThe Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating an accident involving a deputy from the Logan County Sheriff's Office and a trooper from the Marysville Post early Sunday east of Bellefontaine on State Route 540.

Patrol Lieutenant Rick Zwayer is handling the investigation.

He says both drivers were off-duty when an eastbound Nissan pickup driven by Deputy Paul Finfrock, 34, of DeGraff, rear-ended a Chevy pickup operated by Trooper Wayne Levan, 28, of Bellefontaine around three a.m.

Levan was slowing to make a left turn onto Township Road 126.

No one was injured and both vehicles suffered moderate damage.

Zwayer said the use of alcohol is suspected and the investigation should be finished later this week.

Finfrock and Levan continue to work their normal duties at their respective jobs.
