Tiger golfers still perfect, Chiefs and Raiders fall Print E-mail

golf.jpgMany of our local golf teams were in action Monday night.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity boys team beat Triad 173-196 at Woodland Golf Course.

The Tigers Chris White shot a 41 to earn medalist.

Ben Rutan carded a 43, Ryan Meister followed with a 44, Derrick Overholt had a 45, Zach Hartley fired a 46, and Ryan Ropp recorded a 51.

Quinton Yocum paced the Cardinals with a 45.

WLS is now 4-0 for the season and 1-0 in league play.

Coach Darrin Leichty commented, "This was definitely not one of our best performances of the year, but playing Woodland will go a long way for us down the road. The guys need to do a better job of putting the ball back in play after getting behind trees."

In the JV match, West Liberty-Salem defeated Triad 190-210.

TR Nisonger and Storm Shipp led with 46 each.

The Bellefontaine varsity boys fell to host Tecumseh 161-199.

Christian Garlock paced the Chiefs with a 46.

Brock Mitchell had a 49, Ethan Wisse carded a 50, Caleb Elkins added a 54, Brandon Smith recorded a 56, and Sean Hartley had a 60.

In the JV match, Rossi Clark led the Chiefs with a 52.

Luke Heath carded a 56 and Mike Bull had a 57.

The Benjamin Logan varsity boys lost to Graham 171-185.

Mitchell Kenoyer led the Raiders with a 43.

Artie Zell shot a 45, Chris Davis had a 48, Dylan McGarry and Alex Young each carded a 49, and Bryce Goodrich recorded a 50.

In the JV match, Matt Ropp led the black and gold with a 49.

Benjamin Logan will visit Urbana on Wednesday.

The Benjamin Logan varsity girls fell to Greenon 194-205.

Greenon standout Haley Larson shot a 44 to earn medalist.

Hali Brewer led the Raiders with a 45.

Ammi Stover followed with a 49.

Allissa Allford had a 52 and Bailey Beach added a 59.

The Raiders will host Bellefontaine today and travel to Lima for an invitational on Saturday.
