Howes sets track record in West Liberty Print E-mail

mac-o-chee_logo_on_5-08.jpgThe Mac-O-Chee Quarter Midget Racing Association hosted two days of racing this past weekend at the Lions Club Park in West Liberty.

Tyler Garner, Clay Siegel and Noah Barker took the top three spots in Junior Novice.

Senior Novice driver Brad Howes broke the 4-year-old track record during qualifying and held on to win the feature race over Alex Siegel and Deana Heitzman.

Miami Valley racers Caleb Cagle, Jacob Stickle and Drew Myers took the top 3 spots in Junior Honda.

In Senior Honda, Ryan Fleming held on to win with Bellefontaine racer Daniel McPherson right on his bumper followed by Chase Dean.

Ryan also led the field in the Light 160 feature race followed by Nick Beekman and Nicholas Hall.

Ethan Mullet, Bryce Dickson, and Gregory Phillips took the top 3 trophies in Heavy 160.

Cole Howes captured wins in two classes with Jared Rupert and Gage Abercrombie close on his tail in Heavy Honda and Daniel Hall in World Formula.

Racers from Mac-O-Chee, Buckeye, and Miami Valley quarter midget tracks took part in the Mid-Ohio Series on Sunday.

After waiting out a slight rain delay, capturing feature wins were Tyler Garner in Junior Novice, Alex Siegel in Senior Novice, Ryan Fleming in Senior Honda and Light 160, Jacob Stickle in Junior Honda, Cole Howes in World Formula, Lauren Longbrake in Heavy Honda, Drew Myers in Junior Stock and Nigel Mathias in Heavy 160.

Quarter midget racing returns to the Lions Park in West Liberty on September 26th, 27th, and 28th for a special 3-day event, featuring a 100 lap Fun Race for our Light and Heavy 160 Drivers on Friday night. For more information, check us out at http://www.macochee.org/.
