Bellefontaine racer Aaron Pippin won the Iron Man 40 in sport stocks at Shady Bowl. Other feature winners at the Bowl included: Mike Durflinger of Bellefontaine captured the Detroit Iron main event. Kenny Snyder of Beavercreek took top honors in the 20 lap Pro-4 main. Bud Perry of Edon won the late model feature. Josh Sage of Piqua won his fifth compact main of the '08 season. Springfield resident Shane Shirk took the checkered flag in the 25 lap modified feature. The oval in rural DeGraff will host more racing this Saturday. The late models will compete in a 40-lap feature with $1,000 going to the winner. The compacts, modifieds, sport stocks, and Ohio Valley Dwarf Cars will also run. Racing begins at seven p.m. The 2008 season concluded at Waynesfield Motorsports Park on Saturday. Jared Horstman won the mini-sprints. Corey Smith drove to another feature win in the sprints. Mike Hicks took the checkered flag in the tuff trucks. Jeff Babcock captured the UMP modifieds. Waynesfield Motorsports Park will host an awards banquet in November. |
