Lakers, Tigers, and Raiders earn wins in volleyball Print E-mail

volleyball_file_photo_on_10-07.jpgThe Indian Lake volleyball team defeated Riverside 25-9, 25-22, 25-20 last night to improve their record to 6-0.

Sara Tevis led the Lakers with 10 kills and 8 digs, Devin Grandi had 9 kills and 11 digs, Kirsten Brademeyer had 14 assists, Sadie Oyer added 9 kills and 5 stuff blocks, and Heather Allen recorded 3 aces.

The Lakers play at Greenon on Thursday.

Highlights for Riverside included:

Erica Snapp had 6 pts, 12/12 hitting with 5 kills
Dani Lump had 6 pts and was 4/6 serve receive
Victoria Thompson was 12/12 hitting with 5 kills and 2 solo blocks
Amelia Carter was 12/14 hitting with 4 kills and 2 blocks
Abby Heaberlin was 24/27 passing and 8/9 serve receive

The Pirates are 2-1 and will host Columbus Grove on Thursday.

In JV action, Indian Lake beat Riverside 25-16, 25-9.

Kayla Thieman had 5 kills and Leanne Reichert was 13/14 serving with two aces for the Lakers.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity beat Greeneview in 4 games 21-25, 25-22, 25-13, 25-16. The Tigers move to 3-0 overall and in OHC play. The team tallied 53 kills.

Other highlights were:

Paige Parker 27 kills

Tyler Eckurd 16 digs

Kayla Peterson 22 points, 37 assists

Becka Peterson 13 kills, 3 blocks

Danielle King 6 points, 9 digs

Melissa Lee  6 kills

Olivia Marceau 3 kills

The Lady Tigers Junior Varsity lost in three games 19-25, 25-12, 26-28.

For the Tigers Tessa Frye had 7 points, Jessie Wirick recorded 8 points, and Lindsey Levy had 15 points.

The JV Lady Tigers are now 1-2 overall and in the league.

The Benjamin Logan varsity team defeated Ada in four games Tuesday night.

The scores were 25-20, 17-25, 25-13, 25-14.

Middle hitter Alexa Coughlin had 12 kills and 1 stuff block.

Tiffany Rader tallied 10 kills and Abby Small had 6 kills.

Small recorded 7 aces and Samantha Terrill had 5 aces.

Rader was 72-72 setting with 19 assists.

Bailey Kerns added 10 assists.

Defensively, Lauren Stahl recorded 24 digs.

The Raiders move to 4-2 overall. They will travel to Urbana on Thursday. The freshman match will begin at 4:30 with the JV and varsity matches will follow.

The Benjamin Logan JV team defeated Ada in two games Tuesday night 25-11, 25-15.

Lauren Bycynski led the Raiders with 6 kills and Brooke Erwin recorded 5 aces.

The Raiders move to 6-0 overall.

The Bellefontaine varsity volleyball team was defeated by Celina in straight games Tuesday.

The scores were 25-21, 25-11, 25-10.

For the Chiefs, Kirsten Leasure had 13 digs and was perfect on serve receive and serving.

Rachel Rapp added 10 digs and 8 kills, and Emily Melling contributed with 11 digs and 100% serving.

Bellefontaine drops to 2-2 overall and will host Tipp City on Thursday.

The West Liberty-Salem 8th grade volleyball team beat Greeneview in two matches 25-17 & 25-23.

For WLS, Autumn Klinger had 8 points with 2 aces and 3 assists.

Callie Woodruff had 7 points with 4 aces and Courtney Milliron had 6 points with 6 aces.

Kelsy Helms added two kills.

The 8th grade Lady Tigers are now 3-0.

The West Liberty-Salem 7th grade volleyball was defeated by Greeneview in 3 games.

The scores were 25-27, 25-15, and 27-25.

West Liberty-Salem is now 2-1 and will play Springfield Catholic at home on Thursday.
