More than one million customers around the state lost power, including thousands in Logan County. Wind gusts reached over 70 miles per hour in many local communities. Dayton Power and Light and Logan County Coop crews have spent the last several hours restoring power to local residents. DP&L spokesperson Tom Tatham says this is the largest outage he has seen in his twenty-three years with the company. (Storm damage photos in this story) About 200,000 DP&L customers lost power Sunday. DP&L says it will take multiple days to restore power in their 24-county region. Power companies from Virginia and Oklahoma are sending crews here to help. DP&L says about 4,400 customers lost power in Logan County. Approximately 3,000 customers in Bellefontaine lost power, 475 in Lakeview were impacted, 350 in West Liberty were affected, and 175 in Zanesfield lost power. There were scattered outages reported in East Liberty, Middleburg, and Quincy. Logan County Coop says 1,401 customers lost power. All of them were back in service by 12:30 Monday morning. If you're still without power, contact your provider and remain patient. Law enforcement in Logan, Champaign, Union, Shelby, Hardin, and Auglaize Counties reported downed trees, tree branches, and power lines. Officials remind us to treat all downed power lines as live. Some trees did fall into houses and cars, but no injuries were reported in Logan or surrounding counties. Thanks to a generator from Logan County Emergency Management Agency, WPKO & WBLL returned to the air around two o'clock Monday morning. Several local schools were forced to delay or cancel Monday. Three storm-related deaths were reported in Ohio. There were 28 storm-related deaths in the Midwest. Here are some photos from the storm.
