The Logan County Sheriff's Office has received several reports of scam letters being sent to area residents. 

The scam letters ask victims to participate in a consumer survey project by becoming a consumer service evaluator at any number of well known national businesses.

The scam letters include a check to cover various obscure expenses.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office advises area residents to closely review any unsolicited correspondence of this type.

Theft by deception is becoming more commonplace as criminals use the mail, telephone, and internet service to target victims around the world.
