tree_down_at_logan_county_fairgrounds_from_9-14-08.jpgDayton Power and Light is working around the clock to restore power in its 24-county region.

Spokesperson Tom Tatham says power was restored to about 25,000 homes overnight.

About 180,000 DP&L customers are still in the dark, including several hundred in Logan County.

Power was restored in many parts of Bellefontaine Monday afternoon, but some city residents tell us they still do not have power.

Crews are still trying to restore power in DeGraff and Quincy.

Some parts of Indian Lake remain without power, too.

You're advised to remain patient; the recovery effort could take multiple days.

If you still don't have power, contact DP&L at 877-468-8243.

Many communities continue to clear storm debris.

In Bellefontaine, Service-Safety Director Jim Holycross is encouraging city residents to use the free yard waste station on West Columbus Avenue near the railroad tracks.

City residents can place branches and limbs near their curbside, but it could be several days before crews remove the debris.

In DeGraff, residents can place branches and limbs near the curb. Make sure they are no larger than two inches in diameter to accomodate the chipper.

In Russells Point, Mayor Iiams says a dumpster will be placed in front of the Municipal Building on State Route 708 by Wednesday afternoon. The dumpster will accept storm debris for two weeks.

Again, you're reminded to treat all downed power lines as live.

If you need to shower, two locations have offered their assistance.

The Hilliker YMCA is allowing residents without power to use their shower facilities. They're open weekdays from 5:30 a.m. until 10 p.m., 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and noon to five on Sunday.

The YMCA asks that you check in at the front desk.

The Indian Lake State Park Campground shower is available at no charge.

Any child 12 and under must have adult/parent supervision.

You're asked to leave the campground after showering.

Their facility is open from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. today, tomorrow, and Thursday and 5:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Friday.
