vote_button_on_11-07.jpgFor many Ohioans Election Day starts tomorrow with the state's first-ever early voting option.

Thanks to a 2005 law, anyone can now vote by absentee ballot without stating a reason.

The law was designed to encourage early voting among Ohio's almost eight million registered voters to reduce poll lines on Election Day.

Thanks to a quirk in state law, there's also a one week window from Tuesday through October 6th where people can register to vote, then cast their ballot all at the same time.

Ohio is one of 34 states that now allow no-excuse early voting in person or by mail.

Cuyahoga County officials hope as many as 300,000 people vote early. Election officials in southwest Ohio say as many as 150,000 people may cast absentee ballots.

The Logan County Board of Elections will be open late next Monday, which is the final day to register to vote.

They will be open until 9 p.m.

If you have questions about voting, contact them at 599-7255 or stop by 225 South Main, Bellefontaine.
