A local driver suffered minor injuries in a three-car accident in the city Tuesday afternoon.

The Bellefontaine Police Department responded to a crash at the intersection of South Main Street and Allen Road around four p.m.

Officers report that a southbound Ford Mustang driven by Jonathan Clark, 22, of Bellefontaine, rear-ended a '94 Toyota Celica operated by Christopher Horne, 19, of Bellefontaine.

Horne's car then struck the rear of a '96 Honda Accord driven by Katherine Johnson, 56, of West Liberty.

Johnson was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by Bellefontaine Fire and EMS.

Clark was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance. 

Horne's car suffered heavy damage.
