Riverside spikers drop non-league match, WLS jr. high wins Print E-mail

The scores were 25-20, 25-12, 25-19.

For the Pirates, Amelia Carter had 7 kills and 3 blocks.

Brooklynn Purtee had 6 kills and was 5/5 on serve receive.

Abby Heaberlin was 15/19 on serve receive and recorded 3 digs and 6 blocks.

Sarah Schindewolf was 13/17 on serve receive with 5 digs.

Taylor Leiss had 6 kills and was 8/8 setting.

Courtney Hurley had 5 points and was 46/47 setting.

Head coach Brooxie Crouch said, "I think the girls did well Saturday even though we came up with a loss. Versailles is a tough team and it was good competition for us going into this week against Fairbanks this Thursday since we have a chance to win a title."

Riverside is 14-6 overall and 6-0 in the NWCC.

The Pirates will host Ridgemont tonight in Volley for the Cure.

You're encouraged to wear pink. The JV match begins at 6 p.m.

The Riverside JV team lost to Versailles, but no score was reported.

The West Liberty-Salem 7th grade volleyball team beat Southeastern 26-24, 25-23.

Rachel Loffing had 4 aces, 2 digs, and 2 kills.

Abbey Siegenthaler recorded 3 aces and 2 digs.

Kaylin Frederick added 2 kills.

The Tigers are 7-8.
