Keeper Brittany Roby had 10 saves in the win. Senior Ashley Oakley led the Laker attack with two goals. Kerstin Harmon and Brooke Sheeley each added a goal. For Benjamin Logan, Jordan Milsap had a goal to become the 2nd all-time scorer in school history. Kenna Bednarki played excellent defense. Keeper Britnay Evans had several saves. Indian Lake coaches Rice and Cramer said, "Our athletes wanted a win at home for our last season game and they achieved the goal they set for themselves. They wanted a night to be proud of and remember as many of them are graduating. Everyone played hard and implemented all the techniques and strategies we have been practicing to play good soccer. Coach Cramer and I could not be prouder of these girls and their last season victory." The Bellefontaine varsity girls team lost 8-0 vs. Tipp City on senior night at Dodd Stadium. Meghan Hanna, Kea Lewis, Raquel Stoltzfus, Ally Marotti, Brooke Alexander, and Alex Stephens played their final home match for the Chiefs. Bellefontaine is 8-8 overall and 6-5 in the CBC. The Chiefs travel to Tipp City on Monday for their first tournament game. Game time is 7 p.m. The JV Lady Chiefs fell 4-1. Brittany Lantz scored their lone goal. The Bellefontaine varsity boys team tied host Tipp City 1-1. Kraig Strayer scored in the first half on an assist from Robbie Ball. The Chiefs are 7-6-3 overall and 5-3-3 in the CBC. Bellefontaine will host Benjamin Logan in the first round of the tournament next Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The JV Chiefs lost 3-0. They went 9-3-3 this fall. Chieftain coach Steve Henry said, "I am very proud of our team with this result. We played a great defensive game against a very strong Tipp team that was 10 and 0 in the CBC going into tonight. We finished well and played very physical and smart in the back. We needed a couple of good games under our belt to get some momentum going into the tournament. We play a much improved Benjamin Logan team on Tuesday that will definitely be ready to play." |
