Bellefontaine senior leftfielder/third baseman Sean Simon has a passion for baseball; that love was nearly destroyed a couple of times in high school. Simon suffered from a detached retina to his right eye in August '03 and January '06. Fortunately, he fully recovered and is now what head coach Mark Brunswick loves to call a "blue-collar" favorite. Simon is quiet and unassuming, but highly productive between the chalk. He has a single-season record for runs scored and is among the team leaders in batting average (over .400) and hits. Listen to Simon comment on his condition and recovery. You can hear Sean and the Chiefs battle Chardon Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin in the semi's this afternoon on 1390 WBLL. Game time is three o'clock from Cooper Stadium near downtown Columbus. |
