Teams from Washington, Quincy, West Liberty, and Zanesfield are rolling.
14 and under softball: In recent play Washington I earned several wins. They beat East Liberty 8-4, defeated Huntsville I 8-4, outscored DeGraff I 21-14, and beat Bellefontaine I 23-5. Big hitters for Washington I against Bellefontaine I were: Jessica Aboua with a double, Sarah Eagy with 2 singles and a double, Brittany Golliday with a single and a double, Caitlin Jordan with two triples, a home run, and two triples, Kim Major with a pair of singles, Lindsey Ray with a single and a double, Brooke Sheeley with two hits, and Kindra Sheeley, Ashley Knight, Rachel Watt, and Jennifer Meyers all added hits. Washington 2 (Reichert Excavating) beat Bellefontaine 1 16-7. Leslie Reichert pitched the first three innings and Katie Hickman pitched the last 2 innings of the. Offensive standouts for Washington were Sarah Mallory with a double and a home run, Katie Hickman with a double and an RBI, Brittany Roby had 2 doubles and an RBI, Megan Kelly and Cristina Shotts both had an RBI. Double plays were turned in by Taylor Huffman and Sarah Mallory and Katie Hickman and Mallory. Farm League: Quincy beat Rushsylvania 10-3. For Quincy, Dyllan Laber, Dillon Roof & Kolt Shough combined for 13 strikeouts. Dyllan Laber had 2 doubles, Kolt Shough had a triple, Dalton Bollinger had a double, Cory Krieger had 2 doubles and a triple, and Marcus Foster had a triple. At bat for Rushsylvania, Rader had a single. Coach pitch: West Liberty #2 beat DeGraff #1 27-9. For West Liberty (People's Savings and Loan) Dominic Smith had one home run, one double, two singles and three runs, Logan Wooley had one triple, two doubles, two singles and scored three runs, Brad Burt had two doubles, three triples and scored five runs, and Cameron Cozad had five singles and two runs. Little League: Zanesfield defeated Washington 20-0. Zanesfield's Derek Schmit and Aaron Myers combined for 11 strikeouts. Zanesfield's hitting was led by Derek Schmit, Zak Wirick, Aaron Myers, Trenton Rodenburger, Trevor Stout, and Brent Weiss. Washington's pitching was led by Chace Vance, and Austin Collins. |
