Sunday, June 23 2013 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
The entertainment line-up for this year’s Gene Autry Days includes the vocal talents of five nationally-known western performers. Scheduled for June 22 and 23 at the Hardin County Fairgrounds, Kenton, Ohio, hours for the event are 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 10 am to 3 pm on Sunday.
Now in its 20th year, Gene Autry Days commemorates the western star’s 1938 visit to Kenton. At the time, the Kenton Hardware Company was producing the Autry Repeating Cap Gun, which sold over 6 million guns worldwide.
Non-stop entertainment will be provided throughout the two days. The schedule includes: Les Gilliam, “The Oklahoma Balladeer”; Call of the West, music of the American West with Jeanne Cahill and Jerome Campbell; John Buttram, a celebrity sound-a-like and western humorist; Paul Belanger, “The Oklahoma Yodelin’ Cowboy”; Miss Devon & the Outlaw, Devon Dawson received a Grammy Certificate for her participation as the singin’ yodelin’ voice of Jessie, on the Walt Disney CD, “Toy Story 2 Woody’s Roundup featuring Riders in the Sky”, Jessie Del Robertson, aka “Outlaw Jessie Del”; and Kristyn Harris, “The Official Music of Texas.”
Back this year at Gene Autry Days is Breakfast with Jessie, Lasso Up Cancer 5K, and a chicken BBQ. Gene Autry Days also features over 60 tables of cap guns, old toys and collectibles, plus western Look-a-Likes, Lil’ Cowpokes Look-A-Like contest for children and a “Cowboy” church service.
The Fast Draw Match will be held again and the Hardin County Joy Riders 4-H Club will also be hosting an event at the Hardin County Fairgrounds that same weekend, and homemade food as well as Amish-made pie will be available.
Admission to Gene Autry Days is $5 per person, with children 12 and under admitted free. There is also no charge for parking.
