Poetry Show and Guest Barista Night to Benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
5:45 PM - 8:00 PM

SOME WEIRD SIN LITERARY MAGAZINE in conjunction with SWEET AROMAS COFFEE and LAHNA'S CREW present THE YOUNGEST POETS IN THE ROOM, a night of poetry, cupcakes, and charity to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

On this day for the entire 12 hours that Sweet Aromas is open (8am to 8pm) ALL TIPS collected by the baristas will be donated to the Cystic Fibroris Foundation. Guest baristas will be in the house from 5pm until 8pm with a poetry show featuring 3 poets from the Columbus area under the age of 20 at 5:45pm. Even if you can't make it to the show, please stop in any time and drop some money in the tip jar. Every dime is a dime closer to a cure!

During the guest barista hours, we will also be selling raffle tickets for one free pizza per month for a WHOLE YEAR at Firehouse Pizza & Subs in Zanesfield. Tickets are $2 for 1, $5 for 3, and $7 for 10. The winning ticket will be drawn during the show.

Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disorder that effects the lungs, causing them to become coated in a thick mucus which can be life-threatening. It can also effect the pancreas, liver, and instestine. Those with CF face countless lung infections and have difficulty breathing. They will never grow very tall or weigh very much. The predicted median age of survial for those with CF is only in the late 30s. Many will eventually require a lung transplant. There is NO KNOWN CURE for Cystic Fibrosis.

MEET THE BARISTAS
Jordan Keller, father of 9-year old Lahna Predmore who was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis just a few months before her 2nd birthday
Caitlyn Fields, Jordan's cousin and volunteer EMT with Bokescreek Township
Matt Overholt, Jordan's best friend and over of local silk screen t-shirt company 7Thirty8
Bryant Dill, Jordan's cousin, editor/founder of Some Weird Sin Literary Magazine, and local writer (Bryant will also be hosting the poetry show)

MEET THE POETS
Hayden Brown just turned 19 years old (As in April 29th--wish him a Happy Birthday). He is a poet and musician who also occasionally raps. He is quite lanky and likes wearing bowties (but he can pull it off). Despite his young age, he is incredibly wise, which he displays masterfully in his poetry and performance. Hayden is fairly new to the Columbus poetry scene, but has hit it with a bang. This June Hayden will be one of 21 poets featured at the Columbus Arts Festival, beating out a pool of incredibly talented writers. Hayden will also be featuring at a brand poetry series, Wine and Poetry on High, also in June.

Alex Scott is a 19 year old freshman at the recently re-opened Antioch College in Yellow Springs where she's still not 100% of what she wants to study, although she would like to one day open a coffee shop or teach. Alex is constantly smiling and can sometimes be found wearing shoes (sometimes even high heels!). She was featured in Issue 2 of Some Weird Sin Literary Magazine and self-published her first chapbook, If I Could Be Louder, which will be available for sale. Alex recently featured at the First Annual Columbus Poetry Festival. She has also featured at Pen & Palette Open Mic and read a group piece on the finals stage at the 2011 Individual World Poetry Slam with Kinsey Kistler.

Jacob Forquer is an 18 year old senior at Upper Arlington High School (bring him a graduation card!). This fall he will be attending Ohio University in Athens where he will most likely study literature. Jacob is coming into his own as a writer with his maturity and skill growing over the last year that he has been active in the Columbus poetry scene, quickly becoming a favorite amongst community regulars. With one poem, he can both make you laugh and break your heart. Jacob recently self-published his first chapbook, Writing in Secrets, which will be for sale at the show. This will be Jacob's poetry feature debut.

We are very excited to feature all three of these young poets. They are names you should remember. While this is a free show, tips for the poets are appreciated. They are young and travelling a long distance for this show. Let's make sure they get to eat something other than Easy Mac for dinner.

Lahna's Crew thanks you for your support behind this great cause. Anything you can donate is much appreciate. Checks can be made payable to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Lahna's Crew consists of the Keller, Kline, Fields, Dill, Waltzer, Overholt, and Coder families and Lahna Predmore.
