10th Annual Rushsylvania Rockets 5K
8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

The 10th Annual Rushsylvania Rockets 5K will be held on Saturday, August 2nd at 8 a.m.  The race begins and ends at the Rushsylvania United Methodist Church, which is located at 152 Rush Street.  Early registration is $15 and includes a Holloway Dri-Fit t-shirt.  Entries must be received by July 15th.  Race day registration is $20 (shirt only if available).  Packet pick up and race day registration begins at 7 a.m. Trophies will be awarded to the first place male and female with medals going to the top three in each age group.  Runners are asked to bring a canned food item to be donated to the Rushsylvania Food Pantry.  For more information contact Mike or Rose Overturf at 468-7895.

Art on the Beach

The Logan County Art League is making a call for fine artists and fine craftspeople to participate in Art on the Beach  (formally called “Art on the Harbor”).  The 7th annual juried art festival will beheld on August 2-3, 2014 at Oldfield Beach, Lakeview, Ohio.  This well advertised exhibit will be an opportunity for artists to show and sell their work to a large audience in a resort setting.  Each year Art on the Beach draws hundreds of visitors and this year’s show promises to be bigger and better.  Not only will there be incredible art and fine crafts for sell, there will be entertainment and food vendors.  If you are interested in being a part of this growing arts festival, located at Indian Lake, please contact Georgia Byers for an application at 937-465-7845 or via email at georgiabyers@hotmail.com .  The deadline for early-bird entry at a reduced rate is July 15, 2014.
