October 2014
Domestic Violence Awareness Day
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

New Directions of Conslidated Care would like to send out an invitation to everyone for the 2014 Domestic Violence Awareness Day.  The ceremony is from 12pm to 1pm on Friday, October 24th at the Union Station.  Lunch from Subway will be provided.  We are focusing and honoring specific community resorces that give victims hope.  Two of the main one are Law Enforcement and the Domestic Relations Court which issues Protection Orders.  Sheriff Andy Smith will be speaking on behalf of Law Enforcement and Judge Chamberlain will be speaking on behalf of the court system.  We are also going to recognize the Judges, Magistrates and Clerk of Courts from the Domestic Relations Division for their work.  Selected participants will perform a live demonstration called a "A Walk in Her Shoes" that will help the community understand the resoruces that are needed to help a victim reach safety.  There will be the traditional events such as the proclamation by a Logan Co. Commissioner, our singer, and the balloon launch at the end of the ceremony.
