2016 Fall Wellness Challenge

The 2016 Fall Wellness Challenge by Ohio State University Extension’s Live Healthy Live Well Program is a FREE six week on-line email experience designed to help participants improve their health by encouraging physical activity, enjoying healthy foods, and practicing sound activity suggestions. Those who sign up will receive two weekly e-communications from Ohio State University Extension containing research-based nutrition, health and fitness tips.  Tracking logs will be available for download to help participants record their progress.  A pre- and post-online survey will gather comments to improve future challenges. All collected data will be kept confidential.

Participants will be encouraged to “Take Time Out 4 Health!” by practicing healthy lifestyle behaviors. Each topic focuses on ways you can Take Time 4 Health. Join us as we encourage you to “Take Time” to laugh, have fun, be thankful, to move, to cook, to de-stress and to get your tune up.  Sound like fun? Bubble Soccer Tournament

The Bellefontaine Firefighters & International Assocation of Fire Firghters Local 351 will be hosting a Bubble Soccer Tournament on October 22 at 9am at Southview Park. This event is to raise money for local scholarships. Teams are 5-6 people per team and is $300 to register. Businesses can also sponsor this event. Feed Ohio

  “FEED OHIO” CAMPAIGN TO BE HELD SEPTEMBER 1 - 30

All Ohio citizens are encouraged to take part in the “Feed Ohio” campaign to  assist  Governor John R. Kasich, Ohio First Lady Karen W. Kasich, and many faith and community groups provide food to help families in need.

Feed Ohio is a 100% volunteer effort timed in conjunction with the National Day of Service on September 11th.

Now in its fourth year, Feed Ohio is a statewide volunteer humanitarian effort to provide food assistance to individuals and families in the state of Ohio that need our help. Your donation serves your community.  When you donate to Feed Ohio, your items go directly to your local food bank, lending a hand to the members of your community that need it most. 

Feed Ohio is a month-long intensive collaboration between faith-based groups, houses of worship, community service organizations and businesses - regardless of religious affiliation -  to gather non-perishable food and monetary donations to be distributed through local food banks across the state.

Groups in the Bellefontaine area will be donating food collections to First Lutheran Center, Bellefontaine, OH (Kim Collum) and Saint Mary of the Woods, Russells Point ( Jean Klinker).

IL Historical Society

The Indian Lake Area Historical Society will meet on September 26 at 7:00 pm at the Galilee Lutheran Church on Lincoln Blvd. in Russells Point.  The speaker for the evening will be Wayne Wickerham on the subject of "Our Schools" . Come join us for an interesting evening - everyone is welcome.
