“FEED OHIO” CAMPAIGN TO BE HELD SEPTEMBER 1 - 30

All Ohio citizens are encouraged to take part in the “Feed Ohio” campaign to  assist  Governor John R. Kasich, Ohio First Lady Karen W. Kasich, and many faith and community groups provide food to help families in need.

Feed Ohio is a 100% volunteer effort timed in conjunction with the National Day of Service on September 11th.

Now in its fourth year, Feed Ohio is a statewide volunteer humanitarian effort to provide food assistance to individuals and families in the state of Ohio that need our help. Your donation serves your community.  When you donate to Feed Ohio, your items go directly to your local food bank, lending a hand to the members of your community that need it most.

Feed Ohio is a month-long intensive collaboration between faith-based groups, houses of worship, community service organizations and businesses - regardless of religious affiliation -  to gather non-perishable food and monetary donations to be distributed through local food banks across the state.

Groups in the Bellefontaine area will be donating food collections to First Lutheran Center, Bellefontaine, OH (Kim Collum) and Saint Mary of the Woods, Russells Point ( Jean Klinker).

For further information or to make an online donation, go to www.feedohio.org.

Young Americans
1:00 AM - 1:00 AM

The Young Americans will be visiting Benjamin Logan again this year!!  They were with us two years ago and it was a wonderful experience for everyone involved.

The Young Americans is dedicated to the promotion of understanding and goodwill among people throughout the world through music, dance, performance, academic education and cultural interaction among student members and their audiences.

The Young Americans are focused on providing music education and performance opportunities to young people around the world. The International Music Outreach Tours promote the importance of music education by bringing music workshops to K through 12th grade students around the world.

The Young American workshop aims to:o:

  • Encourage music in the schools of our nation and around the world.
  • Train young people in vocal techniques, dance, and comedy improvisation, to stage movement, sound, lighting, and more.
  • Share insight and understanding of different cultures.
  • Strengthen character & develop self-esteem, self-worth, and leadership

We roll into town with one of our intrepid, 45-member crews for a three-day signature workshop for an elementary, middle, or high school. Up to 400 students sign up to participate in a vibrant and exciting music intensive. In just three days, we turn a group of eager students into a show to remember, demonstrating to teachers, parents, school districts and communities the power of music education.

This year’s visit is scheduled for Sept. 25, 26 and 27th.  The workshop is open to third graders through the senior class.  The workshops will take place at Ben Logan High School.  Registration forms can be obtained from Mrs. Christy Fout at the middle school and high school.  Elementary students can get forms from Mr. Young.
