In the early hours of Tuesday, a fire broke out at Ohio Eagles Recreation Park on US 68 North, consuming multiple campers and causing propane tanks to explode, according to the Huntsville Volunteer Fire Department.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., crews were alerted to the scene.

It was reported that two campers were already fully engulfed in flames, with a third beginning to ignite.

The severity of the situation prompted requests for additional support from the Richland Township and Bellefontaine Fire Departments.

Upon arrival, firefighters launched an aggressive attack on the third camper while quickly bringing the first two fires under control.

Tanker and engine crews worked to supply water and provide rehabilitation for firefighters, while additional units assisted with containment and overhaul.

The fire was fully contained, and an investigation was initiated with the State Fire Marshal contacted.

All responding units returned to their stations by 3:14 a.m.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
