Bellefontaine Middle School students competed in their first VEX robotics competition at North Union Middle School Saturday.
Four teams participated in six rounds of playoffs where two two-team alliances competed in two-minute rounds fighting for the most points.
One of Bellefontaine's four teams was selected in an alliance for the afternoon tournament to determine who travels to the state competition. The team consisted of Reid Gleason, Issiah Taylor, and Ryoma Kawakami. They made it through the semifinals to the finals and lost in the last match.
The twelve BMS students included Gracie Beaverson, Megan Beaverson, Sierra Bensman, Reid Gleason, Cy Green, Jakob Karg, Ryoma Kawakami, Nate Kurtz, Issiah Taylor, Mitch McCune, Jon Moody, and Riley Suman.
Bellefontaine Middle School will host a VEX Robotics Challenge on January 11th at 9:30. A pancake breakfast fundraiser will begin at 7:30.
