The United Way of Logan County received a boost recently when AcuSport and AGC announced the results of their internal company campaigns.
AcuSport reported total contributions of $96,679, an increase of $17,386 or 22 percent over last year.
Contributions from AGC and their associates totaled $26,882 and Airstream added more than $8,000.
Additional campaigns completed during the past few weeks include: Belle Printing, Citizens Federal Savings & Loan, the City of Bellefontaine, Consolidated Care, Don & Margaret Hilliker YMCA, Donatos Pizza, Eichholtz, Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Heiby Oil Company, Humble Construction, Logan County Engineers, Lutheran Community Services, Rent-A-Center, and Thomas & Marker.
These results combined with the previously reported numbers bring the 2013 United Way of Logan County campaign to within 90 percent of its $700,000 campaign goal. To date the campaign has generated $628,516 in donations surpassing the $611,422 number that was reached in 2011. With a few weeks remaining before this year’s event comes to a close, the United Way continues to work hard to reach the $700,000 goal.
Jim Donnelly, Executive Director, states that “These results boost our hopes that “Together” we still have an opportunity achieve the $700,000 milestone by the end of the campaign in early January. We appreciate the commitment that our businesses and residents have made to ensure that we can continue to support the needs of our community. The results of the annual campaigns help with our efforts to address and overcome the many troubling trends and conditions confronting Logan County, including personal and family financial instability and critical health risks. Programs such as; food, shelter, assistance for the elderly, and youth programs are just a few of the benefits of the giving.”
“We are blessed to live in a community that recognizes the needs of its residents and supports the United Way and the 22 supported agencies through personal volunteering and by providing the type of funding required for the programs that they provide.”
“It’s through the continued strength of community support and charitable giving that enables the United Way of Logan County and these agencies the ability to support the needs of our families, friends and neighbors.”
The United Way of Logan County’s annual campaign supports 22 non-profit agencies in Logan County whose programs touch one out of three residents. Those programs include:
American Red Cross, Boy Scouts – Tecumseh Council, Caring Hearts of Ohio Hospice Care, Catholic Charities/Helping Hand, Consolidated Care, CCI/New Directions, Discovery Riders, Don M. & Margaret Hilliker YMCA/Safe Haven, Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, Green Hills Daybreak Center, Habitat for Humanity, Hands On of Southwest Ohio/RSVP, International Friendship Center, Logan County Cancer Society, Loving Hands Adult Day Program, Logan Belle Hand/PHD, LCS/Our Daily Bread, Mary Rutan Medication Assistance, One on One Program, Project Child, USO, and Warm Clothes for Kids
