Bellefontaine Mayor Adam Brannon announced on Friday the replacement of current city Fire Chief J.P. Schulz as the Bellefontaine Civil Service Commission voted to certify promotion lists.
Current Assistant Fire Chief Andy Fissel, a 15-year veteran, will be taking Schulz’s place as he retires on January 10th after 25 years.
Fissel and T.J. Weikart each took the promotional tests for the position.
12-year Veteran Firefighter Mark Layman will become the next assistant fire chief. Layman was one of six vying for the position.
There were also ten people named to a police officer eligibility list including Ryan Brown, Jerrod Hostetler, Thomas Hoying, Michael Morgan, Natalie Morin, Dustin Poland, William Shields, James Simpson, Nick Temple, and Alex Wilson.
Anybody on the list is eligible to be hired by the Bellefontaine Police Department once there are open positions.
