The Benjamin Logan Middle School Spelling Bee was held earlier this month.
Eighth-grader Logan Phillips was crowned champion and seventh-grader Mei Carmer finished second.
Each year Benjamin Logan students have an opportunity to showcase their spelling abilities by participating in the district spelling bee. The spelling bee is open to all students in grades fifth through eighth. To qualify for the spelling bee, students first participate in a written spelling test. The top ten spellers in each grade then move on to the district spelling bee.
Phillips and Carmer will represent Benjamin Logan at the Logan County Spelling Bee Monday night at Riverside at 6:00.
The top two spellers from Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake, and Riverside will compete in the county bee.
