Drunk driver charged after leaving crash scene

A drunk driver was charged after he crashed near Zanesfield Thursday afternoon around five o'clock, then drove home.

The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol reports that Robert Johnson, 44, of 4000 Alpine Parkway, Lot E4, Zanesfield, was driving a 1999 Ford Ranger eastbound on State Route 292 near Marmon Valley Farm when he lost control, then went off the left side of the road and struck a guardrail.

Johnson, who had minor injuries, drove to his residence and reported the accident.

The State Patrol responded to Johnson's home.

During the investigation, the trooper noticed signs of alcohol impairment.

Johnson was cited for OVI, failure to control, and no seat belt.

The pickup suffered moderate damage.
