A couple new events for this year's fair were discussed during a Logan County Fair Board meeting Wednesday.
The board chose to allow the farm safety group to do some demonstrations on farm safety during the fair. Fair board president Skip Jackson says that the group puts on a good show and helps to raise awareness about the importance of farm safety. So far no dates have been set for the group during fair week.
The T-bone/beef committee is proposing a calf fitting. The event will give teams of three kids the opportunity to bring in a T-bone or feeder steer/heifer and groom it. The event would start with the animal’s legs being wetted and the team would have 30 minutes to finish. The event will be put on following one of Wednesday's livestock shows.
Daric McClintick was named an honorary board member. McClintick recently resigned from the board because he moved out of the county. He will have most of the duties of a fair board member but will not be able to vote during meetings.
Jackson comments on the meeting.
The fair board meets again on March 12th at 7:30 p.m.
