Minor accident reported; bank turns in counterfeit C-note

The Bellefontaine City Police reported a non-injury traffic accident in the city Thursday about 3:50 p.m.

Margie Anderson, 548 E. High, was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance after she reportedly rear-ended a northbound car driven by James McCune, 435 N. Park, who was stopped at a red light in the northbound lane of S. Madriver St. at the intersection of Columbus Ave.

Damage to both cars was reported to be minor and no injuries were reported.

Police also reported that a 16-year-old Bellefontaine girl was cited for theft after she reportedly shoplifted a personal item at Dollar General, 338 E. Columbus, at about 5:30 Thursday afternoon. The item was valued at $3 and the case was referred to the Logan County Juvenile Court.

Employees of Citizens Bank, 110 N. Main St, reported that they received a counterfeit $100 bill Thursday, which was turned in to the Bellefontaine City Police.
