Vitale, Kellogg-Martin win nods; WL-S levy passes; IL emergency levy fails (Audio included)

Nino Vitale made a strong showing in Logan, Champaign, and Shelby Counties as he won the Republican primary for the Ohio House 85th District seat Tuesday.

Vitale garnered over 54% of the total votes cast, easily outdistancing Doug Chamberlain and Robert Luckey III, who were also vying for the seat being vacated by John Adams. No Democrat filed for the seat, so Vitale will run unopposed in the November general election.

Also winning Tuesday was Kim Kellogg-Martin, who received the Republican nod for the Logan County Family Court judge. Kellogg-Martin edged out challengers Dan LaRoche and Eric Stewart to be placed on the November ballot. She will face Democrat Bridget Hawkins in the fall.

Cliff Hite will retain his seat for the Ohio Senate 1st District - which includes part of Logan County - as he won over 61% of the total votes cast. He will run unopposed in the general election.

Republican incumbent Dustin Wickersham will return as a Logan County Commissioner as he won handily over challenger Bruce Lile Tuesday, garnering almost 68% of the total votes cast. Again, no Democrat filed for the seat.

There were mixed results for local school issues.

Russells Point's 3 mil levy for maintaining police protection and maintenance on village vehicles and buildings also failed by a mere six votes out of a total of 214 cast.
