Three area residents were arrested on drug charges in Waynesfield Tuesday.
The Auglaize/Mercer County Grand Lake Drug Task Force, Waynesfield Police Department, Wapakoneta Police Department, and Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office served warrants at two locations.
Samuel Brown, 23, of Waynesfield, was charged with single counts of trafficking cocaine, trafficking methamphetamine, and trafficking prescription drugs.
Shawn Robinson, 19, of Waynesfield, was charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine and one count of trafficking heroin.
Justin James, 30, of Lima, (formerly of Waynesfield) was charged with single counts of trafficking methamphetamine and trafficking cocaine.
Brown, Robinson, and James were lodged in the Auglaize County Correctional Center.
The arrests stemmed from drug buys made in the Waynesfield area over several months.
Authorities helped purchase heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, and illegal prescription drugs.
A female was also arrested, but it was not connected with the Waynesfield arrests.
Kristie Gillette, 20, of Celina, was arrested on two counts of trafficking in heroin. She remains in custody at the Mercer County Correctional Facility.
Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon and Waynesfield Police Chief Nathan Motter have pledged to do whatever they can to fight the drug issues in Waynesfield and the county.
Sheriff Solomon commented, “The drug issues in this county stretch from the cities to the rural areas to the small villages and we will work all of it.”
