Skidmore sets another record at Jr. Fair Livestock Sale (Audio & video included)

Jessica SkidmoreThe last category of animals at Saturday's portion of the 2014 Logan County Jr. Fair was record-setting on 1390 WBLL.

Jessica Skidmore's Grand Champion Market Lamb smashed last year's bidding price by bringing in $5,300.

Buyers Home Savings and Loan, Global Organic Alliance, Wengers’ Produce, Doyle & Sharon Sams, Benjamin Logan Superintendent Lori Lytle, Qwest Federal Credit Union, Doug Chamberlain, Farm Credit Services, Kroger, Steve Austin's Auto Group, Citizens Federal Savings & Loan, Thompson Dunlap & Heydinger, Richwood Banking Company, Bayliss Builders, Logan Construction, Erwin Insurance, Vic's Country Cooking, Larry Snipes Construction, Kim Kellogg-Martin for Judge, The Shelly Company, Woodruff Feed & Fence, Pioneer Seed/Hough Farms, Rushsylvania Buyers Club, Rushsylvania One Stop, Skidmore Apiaries, B & R Farms, Roberts Machine, Mayhem Farms & Rowe Feed, Simply Boer-Ed Farm, Parker Farms, Stevenson Construction, Mike's Roof & Construction, McNamara Farms, and Bellefontaine Motor Sales set the new purchase record.

Last year, Skidmore's champion lamb set the record at $5,050.

Justine Hites (pictured right) showed the Reserve Champion Market Lamb and sold it for $3,600.

The purchase was a group effort. Buyers included Jackson Collision, AG Boogher and Son, Apple Farm Service, Kale Marketing, Humphrey Excavating, K&R Transport, Heritage Cooperative, Bates Show Pigs, Weaver Brothers/Heartland, West Mansfield Buying Group, West Mansfield Ace Hardware, Black Farms and Trucking, Weiser Excavation, Fields Grocery, Millcreek Insurance, Industrial Pulley, Smith Marathon Distributor, Payne's Plumbing and Heating, Parkside Dairy Barn, Hays Farm, Northside Animal Clinic, Reliant Mechanical, Steve Fansler Attorney-at-Law, Nature Pure, Liberty Bobcat, and Sloan Insurance.

Kyle Ackley (pictured right) garnered $2,000 for his Grand Champion Market Gilt.

Kyle AckleyKyle Ackley also showed the Reserve Champion Market Barrow. He earned $1,500 for his project.

Lukas Schwieterman's Reserve Champion Market Gilt (pictured right) garnered $2,000.

Logan County Co-Op, Farm Credit Services, Kennedy Dental, Esser Electric, First Choice Seed, Wells Fargo, Martin's Landscaping, Foursight Insurance, Frank Dietz of Edward Jones, RV Wholesalers, TruPointe, Richwood Banking Co., and Parrott Implement pitched in to make the purchase.

Sam HendersonThe Grand Champion Turkey was shown by Sam Henderson and sold for $800.

Liberty National Bank, Senator Cliff Hite, Heiby Oil, Steve Austin's Auto Group, and MIG Auto bought the fowl.

Maria Henderson (pictured right) sold her Reserve Champion Turkey for $500 to Green Unlimited and RV Wholesalers.

Gabe VanDykeThe Grand Champion Poultry Meat Pen, shown by Gabe VanDyke, was purchased by Levitate for $800.

Adam Black's Reserve Champion Poultry Meat Pen (pictured right) sold for $1,450 to Farm Credit Services, Ludlow AG, Weaver Brothers, Heritage Cooperative, Jackson Collision, Kroger, and S & S Volvo.
