Teens arrested for golf cart thefts at local campground

Two Columbus teens were arrested after they stole five golf carts at Kamp-A-Lott, 1888 County Road 25 South, Bellefontaine, Saturday night around 6:30.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office reports that Mekko Wharton, 16, and Raylen Jarrett, 16, were charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

Initially, deputies met with the manager and multiple victims.

Wharton and Jarrett were seen on different golf carts at various times.

Witnesses directed deputies to Campsite 48.

After authorities spoke with Jarrett's mother, the teens admitted to taking the golf carts.

Jarrett and Wharton were lodged in the Logan County JDC.

The five stolen golf carts were recovered.
