The Dollar General discussion shifted to West Liberty Council Monday.
Bob Gage from GBT Realty Corporation, Dollar General's developer, was present at the meeting. He asked council if they would be interested in annexing the property that would house the proposed store. Council requested some time to consider the proposal. Mayor Greg Hostetler stated after the meeting that community input would be welcome.
Council voted on pay increases for elected officials:
Position (increase/time period) - new total including increase/time period
Clerk ($8,000/year) - about $40,000/year
Mayor ($25/month) - $375/month
Council ($5/meeting) - $40/meeting
The pay increases will not go into affect until each position’s next term begins.
Mayor Hostetler discusses the meeting's highlight.
West Liberty Council will meet again on August 25th at 7:30 pm.
