The Logan County Fair Board is looking for a new electrician.
During the January meeting Wednesday night, the board discussed the retirement of Gary Thompson. Thompson owns Thompson Electric, which has been the fair's primary electrician for years. The board expressed its appreciation for Thompson and the service he provided to the fair.
The board had two groups present to talk about the electrician duties. All Win Electric (Delaware, Ohio) and Watkins Electric/Peterson Electric discussed the potential job. Watkins and Peterson plan to share the duties if they are selected. Each party will put together information for review and the board could make a decision by the February meeting.
The board recapped the four-day Ohio Fair Managers Convention in Columbus. Eight members from the board attended the event. They attended informational seminars and roundtable discussions. The topics varied from security, gaming, livestock issues, and entertainment. The board also finalized a number of contracts for entertainment for the fair. Jr. Fair Board members also attended the convention.
Board President Christie Barns discusses the meeting.
The Logan County Fair Board will meet again on February 8th at 7:30 pm.
