Traffic stop leads to felony drug arrest near Honda Transmission

William AkersA county man was arrested on a felony drug charge following a traffic stop near Russells Point Monday night around 7:50.

The Washington Township Police Department stopped William Akers, 50, of rural Lewistown, on State Route 708 near World Class Drive for multiple lane violations.

Officers noticed criminal indicators.

Authorities found 14.7 grams of marijuana in Akers' front pants pocket.

Officers searched the vehicle and recovered several prescription pills.

Akers, who did not have a prescription, was charged with felony possession of a scheduled drug and possession of marijuana.

He was cited for a marked lanes violation.

Akers was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
