Tony BeverlyA local teen was arrested for impersonating first responders near Marysville Saturday morning.

The Union County Sheriff's Office reports that Tony Beverly, 18, of West Mansfield, was showing up at Marysville Fire Department EMS calls and identifying himself as a volunteer firefighter.

The Marysville Fire Department responded to an EMS call at the New Dover Mobile Home Park on Route 36 around 7 a.m.

Firefighters found Beverly inside the home with the patient.

He claimed to be a volunteer firefighter with the Bokescreek Fire Department.

Beverly was wearing firefighter pants and had a fire department pager with him.

Deputies learned that Beverly was terminated by Bokescreek in 2016.

Authorities located him walking on 36 near Whitestone Road Sunday around noon.

Beverly was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Logan County Sheriff's Office for breaking and entering.

Deputies report that Beverly was in possession of firefighter turnout gear allegedly stolen from the Bokescreek Fire Department.

Beverly was charged with a first-degree misdemeanor count of impersonating a firefighter and a fourth-degree misdemeanor count of misconduct at an emergency.

He was lodged in the Tri-County Regional Jail.

Last Thursday, the Logan County Sheriff's Office became aware that turnout gear, a helmet, and a pager were missing from the Bokescreek station.

There were no signs of forced entry, but a rear door was found unlocked.
