A rural Bellefontaine man was arrested on multiple charges after a traffic stop north of Huntsville on State Route 117 near State Route 273 Saturday morning just before one o'clock.
Brian Bruce (pictured), 52, of 2582 County Road 130, was pepper sprayed after he refused to comply with a deputy.
The Logan County Sheriff's Office saw a silver Mercedes in the ditch.
Moments later, Bruce exited the ditch northbound. He was pulled over after a deputy saw him drive left of center.
Bruce said he got stuck while trying to back into a driveway.
Bruce was arrested after he failed a field sobriety test.
He was pepper sprayed after he refused to enter the deputy's cruiser.
While searching the Mercedes, authorities found a gun wrapped in a shirt on the driver's side floorboard.
Bruce was charged with felony counts of improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle and resisting arrest. He was charged with misdemeanor counts of OVI and left of center.
Bruce was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
