A local teen driver lost control on Brody Drive (near Walmart) and struck a utility pole Monday night just after six o'clock.
The Bellefontaine Police Department reports that Makayla Butler, 17, of 1977 Township Road 179, Bellefontaine, was driving a '99 Honda Civic northbound when she failed to negotiate the final curve before Kristina Drive, then went off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole.
The accident brought down a power line.
Butler, who was wearing her seat belt, was not injured.
She was cited for failure to control.
The Civic had minor damage.
Bellefontaine Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
