A local man was arrested hours after he allegedly broke into the Rich gas station, 721 North Main Street, in the city.
Matthew Anderson, (pictured), 19, at large, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon around two o'clock.
The Bellefontaine Police Department responded to a break-in Tuesday morning around 5:20.
Anderson reportedly gained entry into the rear of the building by pushing in a window air conditioning unit.
Officers found cigarettes and candy outside the building.
Anderson was charged with a felony count of breaking and entering.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail late Tuesday afternoon.
The gas station is closing at the end of business today.
