A rural Bellefontaine man was arrested moments after he stole an undisclosed amount of money from the concession stand at Ratleff Park, 300 South Springhill Street, Tuesday night around 8:30.
Joshua Welch (pictured), 38, of 1446 Township Road 204, jumped the counter and removed money from the cash register while the concession employee was helping another customer.
Welch fled on foot.
Todd Dixon, an off-duty deputy from the Logan County Sheriff's Office, caught Welch in a wooded area near the South Troy Road viaduct.
The Bellefontaine Police Department responded and charged Welch with theft.
Welch was also picked up on three domestic violence warrants.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
The stolen money was returned to the concession stand.
